- European Industry–Academia Forum on Direct-Drive Inertial Confinement Fusion in Europe Using High-Power Lasers, 3-4 Feb. 2027, European ZFEL, Schenefeld, Germany. The HiPER+ Consortium invites industry leaders, fusion start-ups, researchers, universities, and policymakers to join us in advancing direct-drive inertial confinement fusion using high-power lasers. Building on recent breakthroughs in fusion ignition, the Forum will foster industry–academia collaboration, address key scientific and technological challenges, and strengthen Europe’s fusion ecosystem.
- 7th European Conference on Plasma Diagnostics ECPD 2027, 9-14 May 2027, Pisa, Italy. The meeting will bring together scientists & engineers working on plasma diagnostics for magnetic confinement fusion, inertial confinement fusion, beam plasmas, low-temperature and industrial plasmas as well as space and astrophysical plasmas.

Session will include a brief overview of the current state of inertial fusion, followed by an interactive panel and audience discussion on EU strategy, industry engagement, community synergies across plasma science, and training the next generation of researchers.
